Extra Caring Homecare provides a range of non-medical home care aide services to seniors, elderly, mentally and physically challenged adults to enable individuals to remain in the safety and comfort of their home environments. We also serve clients transitioning back home from an assisted living setting, from a hospital, nursing home, or rehabilitation facility.
As it relates to our services, "non-medical" just means that we don't claim the ability to provide care for urgent medical needs. Our services are tailored more towards assisting with everyday tasks.
We strive to provide flexible payment options to accommodate our clients' needs. Currently, we accept:
Long-term care insurance: Utilize your long-term care insurance policy to cover the services we provide.
Private pay: We accept direct out-of-pocket payments for our services.
Payment through VA benefits: If you or your loved one served in the armed forces, you may be eligible to use VA benefits to cover the costs of our services. Our team can assist in guiding you through this process.
With private paying or long-term insurance clients, we are permitted to provide transportation utilizing the client's designated vehicle. Regrettably, our employees are prohibited from providing transportation to VA clients. Our company has implemented this policy to ensure legal compliance with the VA's policies.
Each client will receive coordinated care and support tailored to their needs, but home care aide duties may include bathing, dressing assistance, medication reminders, assistance in toileting, as well as other personal needs.
Some questions to ask yourself or your loved one include:
Are you or your loved one experiencing difficulty with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, or toileting?
Have you or your loved one had any recent falls or accidents?
Is there a chronic medical condition requiring regular monitoring or medication assistance?
Have you noticed significant changes in their mood, behavior, or cognitive function, such as memory loss or confusion?
The initial assessment is conducted to determine the client's health, physical condition, cognitive abilities, and daily living requirements. The client and their family play a vital role in customizing the care plan. They provide information about the preferences, routines, and specific care needs. The client's goals and desires for their care are also considered. Based on the assessment and input from the client and family, we identify the specific care needs and areas where assistance or support is required. This may include assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication management, meal preparation, mobility assistance, companionship, and more. The client, their family, and the healthcare professional collaboratively set realistic and achievable care goals. These goals may relate to improving health conditions, maintaining independence, enhancing overall well-being, or achieving specific milestones. Using the assessment data, input from the client and family, and the established goals, a customized care plan is created. This plan outlines the specific care tasks, schedules, and responsibilities of the caregiver(s). Caregivers are selected or assigned based on their qualifications, skills, and compatibility with the client's needs and preferences. The care plan is not static; it is regularly reviewed and adjusted as needed. Changes may be made to adapt to the client's changing health status, preferences, or goals.
Here at Extra Caring Homecare, we typically cover these three methods:
Private Pay:
Clients or their families would pay for in-home care services out of pocket. The cost can range depending on the complexity of the care required; the exact price point will be provided upon the free consultation.
Long-Term Care Insurance:
We accept long-term care insurance policies that cover the cost of in-home care. The coverage and eligibility criteria vary depending on the policy, so it's essential to review the policy documents and speak with your insurance provider to understand what is covered.
Veterans Benefits:
Veterans and their spouses may be eligible for benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which can include financial assistance for in-home care services. The Aid and Attendance program is one example.
Yes.
To prepare ourselves for potential sickness or emergencies that can cause the caregiver to cancel an assignment, we will typically assign more than one person to the client that way multiple caregivers are aware of the care plan and procedures if a fill-in is needed.
We conduct thorough background checks and screenings on all employees to ensure they have no criminal history or history of abuse. Employees are typically required to provide references as well. Employees are trained to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. This means they must safeguard the confidentiality of clients' medical and personal information.
Employees are not allowed to share a client's personal or medical information with anyone without the client's explicit consent. This includes discussions with family members or other healthcare professionals. Employees are trained to respect client boundaries. They should not intrude on a client's personal space or belongings unless necessary for care tasks. For example, caregivers should not open personal mail or rummage through personal items. Clients are encouraged to keep sensitive documents and valuables securely locked away when not in use. Employees should not have access to locked storage without permission. In some cases, family members or friends may choose to supervise or monitor the care being provided. This can help ensure that privacy and security are maintained to the client's satisfaction.
